The First Domestic Electric Fracturing Gas Generator And Energy Storage Hybrid Power System

On August 8, China's highest-power gas generator set and hybrid energy storage system for electric fracturing independently developed and provided on-site support services by CNPC Jichai Power Co., Ltd. was commissioned at the YS64100 drilling site (Bohai Drilling) in the northern Songliao Basin.

The system is mainly composed of 48 gas generators with a rated power of 300KW provided by Jichai Power, and 6 sets of 5MWH lithium iron phosphate energy storage systems. During the fracturing operation, the gas turbine and energy storage system jointly provide power for the electrically driven fracturing pump, with a total power of up to 24MW.

As the first high-power drilling solution in China that relies on "gas power generation+energy storage regulation" to replace diesel power, this system is low-carbon, environmentally friendly, intelligent and efficient. Compared with traditional drilling and production equipment, it occupies a smaller area, consumes less energy, and has obvious advantages in energy conservation, emission reduction, cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

According to the same operating conditions, this "hybrid" proposal has increased the comprehensive benefits by 16% compared to the traditional diesel drive proposal. At the same time, the operation mode of this system is more friendly to the generator set and the equipment utilization efficiency is higher.
According to the R&D personnel of Jichai Power's new energy products, the application of this system can use a gas generator set to charge the energy storage system during the interval of fracturing operations. This not only reduces the number of generator starts and stops, reduces gas losses, but also ensures that the generator operates in the high-efficiency zone, effectively improving the efficiency of gas power generation.
